I started out with four fish: a dalmation molly, a gourami, a guppy and a betta.
First the betta died. It fell apart. I don't know how that happened. I was at school. My dad told me he threw it away in the toilet. I was disappointed. I was worried my other fish might die unless they had a force-field power.
Next we had to take the fish out because my sister fed them too much fishfood. In fact she fed them all of it! I was not happy, so I was veryveryvery mad. My dad took out the water and the fish. First he put water in a different bowl to let the fish rest. I was scared. I thought he was going to throw them away. But he did not throw them away. He cleaned the tank. He filled it up with new water. Then he put the fish back in the tank.
A few days later the guppy died. My mom and I put him in the toilet and flushed.
So now I have two fish.
4 - 2 = 2

My Fish
I have 4 fish!
I bought them from PetSmart Saturday with my money. I earned money by doing good in school.
I have a gourami, a guppy, a betta and a dalmation molly.
I feed them by dropping the fish flakes in. I just get out a piece and drop it in and then wait for them to get it. Stop dropping pieces when the fish go to the bottom.
Just feed your fish around your bedtime every day.
If it is too cold for the fish to swim in the water, buy a heater. I did that. And if you need to find out if the temperature has moved up or down use a sticker thermometer.
Use the pictures to find out what you're supposed to do in the story what I did.

New caterpillar
I found a new caterpillar this weekend. He is a wooly bear, but we could not figure out what kind of moth he will be.

My Caterpillar!
The other day I found a green caterpillar on some bricks in the backyard.
Daddy and I looked up on the computer what kind of butterfly it would be and we found out it would be a Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly.
I put it in my butterfly cage with Poplar leaves, which was what the internet said they ate. I put in cottonballs full of water in there for him to drink.
We don't know if it is a boy or girl.
The caterpillar did not eat. He just climbed around and then sat on a stick.
My mom wouldn't let me take it to school, so I am going to blog about it instead.
Yesterday the caterpillar turned a dark color brown. I thought it might be dead.
But today it looks different. And it wiggles when I blow on it. It is a pupa! A butterfly pupa is called a chrysalis.
This is what it looks like today:
It is supposed to stay a pupa until spring. Then it will come out as a butterfly.
When it comes out I will set it free.
We will see if it is a boy or girl when it comes out, because girls have blue spots on the hind wing.
It is going to be fun setting it free! Because we're going to hold it and lift it into the air.
